Maternity Dentistry
About our maternity dentistry (dentistry for pregnant women)

Oral health during pregnancy is also related to the risk of tooth decay in babies.
In fact, because there are no cavity-causing bacteria in babies' mouths, they often become infected from adults in their lives. For this reason, it is important for mothers in particular to deepen their understanding of prevention and take measures early.
We provide appropriate advice regarding treatment and oral care during pregnancy. Please bring your maternal and child health handbook to receive more effective treatment.
Timing of treatment during pregnancy

Early pregnancy (1-4 months)
It should only be used for emergency treatment as it may cause miscarriage.
Mid-pregnancy (5-8 months)
Treatment can be done during this period called the stable period. Unless there are special circumstances, treatment can be done without any problems. It is recommended that treatment be completed by the end of the third trimester of pregnancy.
Late pregnancy (after 9 months)
Treatment should be avoided as it may make labour more likely. If treatment is needed, it can be resumed after the birth.
Things to be aware of during pregnancy

About oral care
- Pregnant women need to pay special attention to oral hygiene. It is important to brush your teeth thoroughly after meals in the morning and evening, and to remove plaque using interdental brushes and floss.
- If morning sickness or vomiting continues, it is important to rinse your mouth with water to prevent tooth decay caused by stomach acid. It is also important to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dry mouth.
When to receive treatment
- Oral examinations are recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. It is important to seek treatment as early as possible, as treatment may be more difficult during pregnancy.
- When pregnant women undergo treatment, care must be taken with the use of anesthesia and medication. In order to receive treatment safely, it is important to explain your condition during pregnancy in detail and consult with your doctor or dentist as necessary.
