We provide painless treatment at our clinic

At our clinic, we thoroughly explain the treatment and begin treatment only after the patient is satisfied. Those who are resistant to anesthesia or have panic disorder will not be treated immediately at the first visit. We propose treatment methods tailored to each patient, such as treatment using nitrous oxide anesthesia and intravenous sedation.

If you experience pain during dental treatment, we will stop the treatment without any worries. Please feel free to contact us first.

Painless treatment at Hashimoto Dental Office

To ensure that those with dental phobia or who are sensitive to pain can receive treatment with peace of mind, we take great care to ensure that they do not feel any pain, not only during treatment but also when administering anesthesia before treatment.

We also offer intravenous sedation administered by a dental anesthesiologist, and nitrous oxide anesthesia, in which a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide is inhaled through the nose.

For those who want less painful treatment

Commitment to painless treatment

When you hear the word "dentist," even people who have never been to a dentist have the image of it being painful and scary.
When teeth are filed or extracted, it hurts. There is local anesthesia to relieve that pain, but the fact is that "local anesthesia to relieve that pain hurts!" This is a completely upside-down truth.
"Providing anesthesia that does not cause pain" is a very important theme in painless treatment. If the anesthesia is effective enough, the subsequent treatment will be easier.

Dental phobia

Dental phobia often originates from a bad experience at a previous dentist.
In other words, it is impossible to solve everything with just a slight difference in anesthesia, and it is necessary to fundamentally change the way treatment is carried out.

Is it normal for dentists to hurt?

Some dentists believe that "it's natural for treatment to hurt" or "it's natural for injections to hurt."
But is that really the case?

...Yes, dental treatment is painful.
However, by taking your time and being careful, the pain can definitely be reduced.

Beware of fake "painless treatments"!

In the past, there was a mistaken idea that painless dental treatments would not hurt if you did nothing.
When trying to thoroughly remove deep cavities, you get close to the nerves, so you need anesthesia to suppress the pain.

However, in order to avoid the pain of anesthesia, there have been cases where the dentist has not completely removed the decayed tooth and instead filled it with a filling, advertising the treatment as painless. This is an incorrect form of painless treatment. Only when the treatment is thorough can it be called painless treatment.

Our efforts to prevent pain and fear

Relaxing space and uniforms

We welcome you in a relaxed atmosphere that does not resemble a dental clinic. We have abandoned the traditional white coats and are now welcoming you in warm uniforms.

Relax with a slow and detailed explanation

We have counseling staff on hand, so please feel free to ask any questions
, even if they are minor. We have prepared a spacious counseling room so that patients can express their thoughts without hesitation.

Cover your face with a towel during treatment

During treatment, we place a towel over the patient's face to prevent the patient's face from getting dirty and to prevent medication or debris from getting into their eyes. However, some patients feel uneasy when a towel is placed over them. If this is the case, please feel free to let us know.

Pain-free injection anesthesia

Topical anesthesia

First, we will administer anesthesia to numb the area.
If you apply a gel or liquid topical anesthetic to the surface of your gums and wait a few minutes, the pain of the subsequent injection will be reduced. Since it is a topical medication, there is no pain.

Uses ultra-fine needles

The needles we use are also much thinner than usual, at 33G (0.2mm). (The standard needle is 0.3mm thick.)
However, if you try to inject the same amount of anesthetic with a thinner needle, the flow and pressure of the anesthetic will increase. It is important to use a thinner needle and inject the anesthetic slowly.

electric syringe

After the anesthetic applied to the surface of the gums has taken effect, the anesthetic is injected. Injecting the anesthetic all at once can cause pain. With a manual syringe, you have to use more force than necessary, and the pressure of the anesthetic can be painful, but with an electric syringe, you can inject small amounts of anesthetic at a slow and steady speed.

Nitrous oxide anesthesia (Nitrous oxide inhalation sedation)

It's a comfortable way to heal

This is anesthesia where a nasal mask is placed over the nose and the patient is inhaled.
By inhaling a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide (about 20-30%) through the nose mask, the patient will feel a comfortable warmth in about 5 minutes, and it will relieve anxiety, fear, and discomfort. The nitrous oxide has a faintly sweet smell and can be inhaled comfortably without any discomfort.

Treatment can be done in a relaxed state

Patients remain conscious and are in a calm, relaxed state (similar to the pleasant state you feel after drinking alcohol).
After the mask is removed, patients regain consciousness in about 2-3 minutes, and can return home within a few minutes of treatment. Since low concentrations of laughing gas are used, it is excreted from the blood very quickly.

Intravenous sedation (anesthesia by drip)

Treatment can be done without the need for hospitalization

For those who are very sensitive to dental treatment or sensitive to pain, general dental treatment and implant treatment are performed using anesthesia administered by a dental anesthesiologist via drip (intravenous sedation). There is no need for hospitalization. You will remain conscious and in a calm and relaxed state.

Treatment can be done in a relaxed state

The examination will begin with an interview with Dr. Tosa, the dental anesthesiologist, so please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Anesthesia will begin when you are in a relaxed state.
